Our Founding Story

How We Started!

The National Women Association for Social and Education Advancement (NWASEA ) was established in 1995 as an indigenous non-Governmental Organization (NGO). It is now a fully-fledged Non - Governmental Organization which is registered with the NGO Board of Uganda, as well as a company limited by guarantee without share capital.

It was also established to make an impact on the growing problem of women and vulnerable children and out-of-school youths rights to sustainable development. NWASEA is dedicated to promoting and protecting the rights of women, children and young people in Uganda as articulated in the U.N. Conventions on the Rights of women and the Child. NWASEA offers continued Formal and non-Formal Education, Promotes human rights, counseling and Rehabilitative Services.

Over the past years of grass root development experience, NWASEA has realized that promotion of self-help initiatives of social and economic empowerment of vulnerable groups is a key requirement for sustainable development of local communities.
